Misty & Grant — The Adolphus Hotel
The Adolphus Hotel • Dallas, TX • 2021
The afternoon light came through the windows at exactly the moment they said their vows.
The afternoon light came through the windows at exactly the moment they said their vows. It wasn't planned. It never is. That's the thing about the Adolphus — the building has opinions about how your day should feel, and it's almost always right.
Misty and Grant didn't want a film that felt like a highlight reel. They wanted something that moved slowly enough to let you breathe. So that's what we made.
We started in the getting-ready suites around 10 AM, long before anyone was looking at a camera. By the time the ceremony came, the room felt settled. Calm. The kind of calm that reads on film.
The reception carried that same energy — a hundred people in a room, laughing, dancing, completely at ease. That's rare. Most receptions have a performance quality to them. This one didn't.
